Sylver
Any idea what " Turn the
tide" , a belgian club and the highest entry in the charts have in
common? The answer, wich will come as a surprise to no one, is the
hottest sensation of the year 2000: SYLVER
Sylver is the result of former
child prodigy vocalist Silvy joining forces with behind-the-screens
producer master minds Wout van Dessel and Regi Penxten. Alongside Wout
and Silvy two dancers complete the SYLVER – act.
Wout van Dessel (19/10/1974 )
has been a DJ for years in a number of trendsetting Belgian clubs, such
as Illusion ( Lier ). His guest performances at International venues (
for instance, in South Africa ) have been known to set the tunes as well.
Wout also owns a home studio where he has been producing and remixing
for a considerable amount of time. SYLVER is his first cross-over
project. During what little spare time he has, Wout thoroughly enjoys
sports, more specifically basket ball. His ultimate dream is to attend
an NBA- match in Madison Square Garden, New York.
Silvy de Bie ( 04/01/1981 )
has been familiar with the world of showbiz since childhood. At the
early age of 9 she rocketed into the charts after an appearance on a
TV-show for a commercial broadcasting company. After completing her
studies, she started working in a shop. Like most girls, Silvy loves
shopping. Shopping streets and malls are her greatest soft spots.
Regi Penxten (04/03/1976 )
produces SYLVER from behind the scenes. Together with his counterpart
Wout, he creates the tracks from his home studio. Regi’s musical
history is very wide- ranged. His breakthrough came when he scored a big
hit in France and, of course, when he took subsequent Milk Inc.
productions to the highest tops of the charts in Belgium and Holland.
Silvy and Wout met in Illision,
the club where Wout is resident DJ and where Silvy often goes out. As
Wout had started producing ""Turn the Tide", he asked her
to add the vocals to the track. The result was so impressive that they
decided to release the song. Originally, only a maxi-version was
released on 12", but due to the overwhelming reactions, the single
was released during the summer of 2000. Dreams were soon to come true as
"Turn the Tide" went gold and stood at number one for no less
than three weeks in the official Belgian charts.
"Turn the Tide" was
released in Belgium under the band name Liquid feat. Silvy. However, the
name had to be changed into SYLVER as an Irish band, around which it has
remained very quiet for a long time, suddenly claimed the name. The
single is now internationally being promoted as SYLVER’s first single
in Canada, Spain, Poland, Isral. France, Germany, Australia.
