Shermanology
Hailing from both the
Caribbean and Amsterdam —
siblings Andy & Dorothy
Sherman, better known as
Shermanology
have been busy adding to
their illustrious dance
music career by returning to
their roots with a unique
blend of soul, jazz, funk,
and vocal house. Under their
own brand, “The Phylosophy”,
Shermanology is showcasing
their true love for groovy,
vocal and accessible house
music highlighted by
Dorothy’s soaring vocals and
Andy’s bass-loving beats,
including tributes to the
classic house vibes of the
90s.
Shermanology’s music took
off in 2011 as they featured
on Avicii’s/Tom Hang’s
“Blessed” followed quickly
by their collab with
Afrojack - the massive hit
“Can’t Stop Me”. These
tracks made their voices
heard at all the main stages
of electronic music
festivals, and took them on
a whirlwind tour around the
globe. Thanks to their
success, they have since
been able to focus more on
creating songs with the
Motown sound they grew up
with, and the vocal house
music that brought
Shermanology together in the
first place.
This lead to them releasing
“The Phylosophy EP”
in 2015 featuring the vocal
crossovers “Sweet Surrender”
& “Old Skool Dayz” as well
as the club track “What you
Wanna Do”.
In line with this
revitalized sound, 2016 sees
Shermanology tapping into
their inner 90s soul with a
fresh new version of the
true House classic “Follow
Me” by Aly-us, released on
the reknowned Armada label
on April 29th,
followed in August by a
re-work of the Artful Dodger
hit “Movin Too Fast”. Once
again, Dorothy’s vocals soar
over Andy’s groovy smooth
beats just in time for the
summer vibes to hit all the
airwaves and dance floors
around the world.
